Since the release of the New PredictWind site on the 1st of May we have released many new features and made many refinements. The following is a summary of the major items:
Location Selection

You can do a name or map search for your location.
Mobi Site

Text forecasts can be accessed on your mobile phone web browser

Simply type www.predictwind.mobi on your mobile phone browser

The 1km and 8km forecasts are now combined into one table

GFS and CMC forecasts are color coded so you can easily compare them

Remembers you username and password each time you login
Forecast Maps

The view and zoom level are automatically saved, so when you return you can quickly view your favorite location

A time spinner has been added, so you can see when the forecast information has been downloaded

A Global 9 day 100km resolution forecast is now available. View the GFS or CMC forecast for any location in the world
Contour Maps

Offshore rain maps now include a surface pressure overlay, so you can see the general synoptic situation

Cloud cover maps show the percentage of cloud cover every 3 hrs.
Weather Routing

The routing algorithm has been refined

The routing algorithm uses land avoidance down to 1km resolution

Better error messaging and hence easier to troubleshoot

Time zone can be set for your location, so all times are displayed for your location for all forecasts

You can add multiple waypoints to force the route to follow a path. For example, circumnavigating an island

Results table showing more information and better formatting

You can now add and save your own custom polar
Trip Planner

This feature is now active, and will quickly show you the best day to leave on your next trip

Suitable for coastal trips of 10NM or more, or long offshore passages

Presents the information in a summary table for the next 5 days.

Equivalent of doing 8 weather routings and summarizing the results
Real Time Observations

This feature is now active and working properly.

Click on the stations to see a graph wind observations since midnight in the local time

The Google map view is now automatically saved to show your last view
