Wind patterns in the surrounding area

Local and regional forecast maps make it possible to see how a small shift in the weather pattern may affect your forecast. This will give you further confidence in the forecast.

For example if the wind pattern is uniform around your forecast location, the forecast has more certainty, but if there are significant wind changes nearby, you need to take this into consideration for your forecast as another possibility.

In the example below both forecast locations have very different wind strengths and directions, and also susceptible to a slight shift in the wind pattern.
