Hi there! A couple of questions:
Does the datahub log the ‘current’ weather conditions (wind etc) and allow us to view / work with that data within the Predict Wind app?
Does it have an offline mode?

If you connect your DataHub into your boat’s NMEA then wind data and all other N2K data is logged.
This data cannot be viewed in the PredictWind App, but you can view the live N2K data by logging into the DataHub itself.
However, if you have a tracking page and set it to update your position every minute or 5 minutes, you will be able to see the boat position and wind speed on the tracking page as it is uploaded.
All the N2K network data on the boat can be logged and saved to the SD card in the DataHub if you turn on logging.
You can save the last 4 days or last 4 weeks of data depending on the settings you choose.
If you fill-up the memory card, it will stop logging until the log rotation allows more space by deleting the oldest data as the log data is rotated in the schedule.
The N2K data can be viewed in text format or you can use the Acticense viewer to decode it since the data is stored in Actisense format.You can use the “Remote Access” feature to be logged into the vessel in real-time. You can easily start/stop the data logging to capture segments of the rate using the NMEA logging feature. Push the “rotate” logs button when you want to start a new capture. then download the one just completed for analysis. you can also use the “polars” module to start/stop a recording of N2K data then download the data for analysis at the shop. Polars data is no more than just a “raw” capture of the N2K instrumentation in Actisense format.

Offline mode: When the DataHub is offline and not connected to the internet, it will keep the GPS position reports, and upload them when it is online automatically. Thus updating your tracking page when it can.

How is the ub attached to the satellite telephone?
The cell phone/ satellite system can be tethered to the DataHub by USB, Ethernet cable or via Wi-Fi.
The DataHub will then create a Wi-Fi hotspot for multiple devices to connect to. The GPS position, wind data and AIS information available from your N2K network connection are then broadcast on this Wi-Fi connection using UDP or TCP.
Note, this DataHub will not work with an Iridium GO or other low bandwidth devices.

how does one upgrade the memory card in the data hub?

To update the memory card, it is a matter of unscrewing the bottom plate on the DataHub unit and switching out the memory card for another.

Just to clarify.
Are you saying I can not send data via my Iridum go
Recent purchaser of data hub and did not expect this news
Did I not read marketing material correctly ??
Hi Murray,
The DataHub does not link to the Iridium GO, and it is not a Satellite Communication device. You will still need the Iridium GO! or some other satellite communication device when you are offshore so you can download weather data and send/receive SMS and emails and GPS track via satellite.
