High Resolution Wind Forecasting [video]
PredictWind provides the highest resolution wind forecasts available on the web, but what does this actually mean?
As the world leader in weather forecasting, PredictWind’s weather models have been generating high resolution forecasts for the last 5 years. However, understanding the benefits of high resolution forecasting can be confusing.

Yes very nice but I would be a happier customer if you fixed up the Alerts which are not working for me.
Thanks and regards,
Tom.
Hey Tom,
That doesn’t sound right, if you flick us an email at support@predictwind.com we’ll get our tech guys to get you sorted asap.
Thanks
Great, why does my package only have 7km resolution, is there an upgrade?
Hey Jack,
What package are you on?
You can see the different packages and resolutions provided here:
http://www.predictwind.com/features-packages-and-pricing/
Also, when you select your location you need to make sure it’s a high resolution location.
Check high resolution world coverage.
And then when you are selecting your forecast location, be sure to select a 1km resolution location.
See How to add 1km high resolution forecast locations.
Hope that helps
I subscribe to PredictWind but I cannot see “high resolution” forecasts. Why is this? Do I need to be on a different payment plan?
Hey John,
You won’t see the forecasts labelled ‘high resolution’, just 1km or 8km.
PredictWind provides high resolution forecasts, where available, for tables and graphs at all subscription levels.
As per the features table, you’ll need to upgrade to a standard account to view 1km resolution forecasts in the map view.
And to take advantage of 1km resolution forecasts for weather routing and trip planning you’ll need to update to a professional account.
Also make sure you have selected a high resolution location, as per the comment below.
Thanks!
Tim
Good morning
What make you think you are the world leader in weather forecast?
Thankyou
Hey Adam,
Our forecast models generate the highest resolution forecasts on the web, providing the most accurate results.
You can check out the Why PredictWind page for what sets us apart, and also the Who uses Predictwind page for a list of experts opinions on PredictWind.
Thanks for your question
what good is Predict wind if you are out of cell tower range??
Hey Vaughan,
Currently you need an internet connection to view the forecast from your computer of the mobile apps.
In the next few months we will be releasing cached support, which will allow you to load the forecast when you have a connection, then view the forecast while you are out of 3g reception.
If you are outside of mobile coverage we recommend getting the Iridium GO!
(http://www.predictwind.com/iridium-go/) that has the unlimited data plan for US$125/month. The Offshore App is specially designed to
work with the Iridium GO!
Hope that helps!
Looks great
how to log onto the High Resolution wind forecast web site?

Will predict wind forecasts cover coastal waters around Australia. We are planning a cruise in a powerboat (Nordhavn 57j running about 8 knots from Brisbane north and west to Darwin then south through the Kimberley to Fremantle. Does the program provide wind, sea , swell etc and for how many days forward.
Hi Murray,
Yes we cover all coastal water around Australia with 4 weather models. We also provide all the parameter you mention plus more out to 14days in advance.
Kind Regards
