Ilfracombe Yacht Club was formed in 1962 to promote sailing and motor cruising in the Bristol Channel. The original club members met in the skittle ally of the Pier Hotel, and then only in the summer. In 1972, they moved into part of the old Seaman’s Bethel and the club as we know it was born.
