Salon

A salon is the main enclosed living and gathering area inside a yacht, motorboat, or cruising vessel. Usually positioned in the cabin or deckhouse, it provides seating, a table, storage, and access to nearby onboard spaces, making it the practical centre of life aboard.
For boaters, the salon matters because it supports crew rest, meal planning, watch handovers, and weather briefings during coastal or offshore passages. Its layout often connects directly with the Galley, includes a Settee for seating or berths, and is divided or supported by a Bulkhead. Good ventilation, secure stowage, handholds, and clear access are important for safety when the vessel is rolling or heeling.
The salon is also a common place to review forecasts, routes, charts, and onboard instrument data on a tablet or display. With PredictWind tools and a connected DataHub, crews can monitor position, weather updates, and passage information from this central onboard space.
