About Hopetoun Maritime Facility

Located 49 kilometres south of Ravensthorpe is Hopetoun, a quiet waterfront holiday town on the southern coast of Western Australia located on the shores of Mary Ann Haven. The town is situated 585 kilometres south east of Perth, 258 kilometres east of Albany and 239 kilometres west of Esperance. Popular water activities in the surrounding area include boating, windsurfing, fishing and swimming. Hopetoun has a population of approximately 300 people, with magnificent coastal scenery and unspoilt beaches. The town was originally settled by whalers and sealers, who hunted in the Southern Ocean and later thrived with the local discovery of gold and copper. Recent nickel mining located between Hopetoun & Ravensthorpe has also attracted many more people to Hopetoun. The Hopetoun Maritime Facility is centrally located in the town centre. The facility comprises a service jetty and a boat launching ramp as well as public toilets, car park and hardstand area. Boating facility fees Fees are payable for the use of maritime facilities throughout the state.
