About Puerto Recreio Machico

Very small fishing harbour that can welcome one or two pleasure crafts when out of the fishing season. Nice shopping within 10 mins walk at “Pingo Dos” and “Continent” supermarkets. Scooters rentals and car rental available. The captain of the port (English and very friendly) will tell you where to put!

Marina Quinta Do Lorde Marina

A very friendly, beautiful, small marina, the staff was very helpful with mooring. Lovely Joanna helped us with renting a car, they even brought and picked the car up from the marina. You definitely need a car to visit the island. The little shop and bar in the marina is sympathetic. Excellent welcome from Joana and the marinheiros who help with the mooring, and a really nice atmosphere. With the Sail The World membership, there is a good discount. Sanitary facilities very good, all service impeccable. Sometimes a swell is entering the harbour even with no wind.
