About Jachthaven Bergen Op Zoom
The former marquee city of Bergen op Zoom has traditionally been a port and fishing town. The city's many monuments tell the story of a rich and eventful past. The extensive forests surrounding nearby Woensdrecht invite biking and walking. The entrance to the port of Bergen op Zoom The Theodorushaven is located on the Scheldt-Rhine Canal (SRK) and can be reached via the Bergsche Diep. The fairway of the Scheldt-Rhine canal is indicated with buoys. After passing the dam lights, the route is indicated by a line of white and green lights. These lead to the Burgemeester Peterssluis. This lock has a lock length of 120 meters and a width of 12 meters. Due to the equal water level of the port and SRK, this lock is no longer used as an (emergency) flood barrier. The maximum width of passage allowed is 11.60 meters. The lock has VHF channel 22. During navigation and transfer in port, it is mandatory to listen to this channel. After the dam lights have passed, you will be on the Bergen op Zoom street. In the entire navigation area, both in the outer port and in the interior, a maximum navigation speed of 6 kilometres per hour applies. Above the inner head of the lock is a movable swing bridge which is served by all forms of shipping when available. WV de Schelde is an association with an active club life to which many members contribute. With a marina for motorcyclists, fishermen and sailors
