Watersportvereniging "Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht"

After its foundation in 1979, WatersportVereniging Hendrik Ido Ambacht has grown into a household name for water sports enthusiasts from H.I. Craft and wide environment. Our harbour with well-maintained jetties and modern electrical installations offers a berth for about 45 ships. Each member, therefore, has its lockable electricity connection. It is also possible to use our berths only during the summer months. Many members go out several months a year, making these berths available for temporary rental. Ask our Harbor Master about the possibilities. Our port, right next to the Alblasserdam bridge, is easily accessible from the river Noord, but also easily accessible from the road by car (free parking) and public transport. Within walking distance of the harbour (800 meters), you will find a large shopping centre "de Schoof" with various shops including two supermarkets. Our marina is located near the junction of Noord, Maas and Merwede and therefore offers an excellent base for many beautiful sailing routes. If you sail from the harbour to the South, you will reach the Biesbosch via the rivers Noord and the Beneden Merwede. The Dordtse, Sliedrechtse and Brabantse Biesbosch cover a vast nature reserve where you can enjoy many types of water birds such as geese, the White-tailed Eagle, but of course also beavers in their natural habitat.
