About Watersportvereniging Ooltgensplaat
Great location for nature lovers who don’t mind peace and quiet. All amenities you need nearby Ooltgensplaat is a popular port with passers-by because of its friendly atmosphere and its central location in the area of the South Holland and Zeeland delta waters. The harbor is accessible via a 500 m long access channel. The entrance is concreted but not lit. A sign to the left of the entrance indicates the harbour. The entrance is difficult to see because of the trees and shrubs on the bank. In late summer it occasionally happens that the lock at the entrance is closed to keep the blue-green algae out of the Volkerak. This can be the case with easterly winds after a prolonged warm period. The lock is then operated a number of times a day. The Volkerak has virtually no level difference, so the maximum draft is a constant 1.80 m. This applies to the lock threshold as well as the access channel and the port itself. Passers-by are assigned a berth that best suits the dimensions of their boat. If there is no answer, you can enter and moor at a free berth with a green sign. Passers-by report to the harbor master as soon as possible after arrival.
