On the Narrows Marina

On the Narrows Marina, located at 8137 S Glen Lake Rd, Glen Arbor, MI 49636, United States. Our family, the McCahills of Littleton, Colorado–Tom, Carol, Conor, Megan and Neil–first came to Glen Lake in August of 1986 for a family reunion. We were boating the entire week and staying at the Glen Eden Resort on the north shore (a very special place, although no longer in operation, remains in our hearts forever). The lake and lodging location for the reunion was planned by Ray, Tom’s brother, who settled in Grand Rapids, Michigan, after graduating from Aquinas College. The entire McCahill Clan (all 72+ of us!) who originally hail from Chicago still enjoy family reunions at Glen Lake. We returned the next summer to Glen Arbor and we’ve been enjoying water skiing, fishing and boating on beautiful Glen Lake every summer for over 20 years. You might say we “fell in love” with the Leelanau Peninsula! So when we heard the marina that Jack and Marcie Ferris owned and operated for 18 years was for sale, we wanted to take it on. It’s truly a family business for us. Conor and Megan ran the marina the first summer, and now Conor and Neil operate the marina. We strive to carry on the tradition and run it in the same fashion as the Ferris family did. We want everyone to have so much fun that they come back year after year, just like we did. We especially enjoy hearing stories from people who have been coming here for generations. We try to honor all special requests and do our best to accommodate people who need a little something extra to make the most of every outing.
