Forecast Graphs
February 27, 2025
Forecast Graphs are time-based visual displays of marine weather data for a specific location or route. In boating, they show how conditions such as wind, waves, rain, temperature and pressure are expected to change hour by hour or day by day.
For sailors and power boaters, graphs make trends easier to spot than raw numbers alone. A rising Wind Speed, increasing Wave Height, or shifting pressure pattern can influence reefing decisions, anchorage choice, watch planning and safe departure timing. They complement Forecast Tables by giving crews a quick overview of developing risks.
In PredictWind, Forecast Graphs help compare model guidance and plan around changing conditions before and during a passage. They are especially useful alongside maps, Weather Routing, Departure Planning and Offshore App downloads, where a clear view of weather trends supports safer, more efficient navigation.
