Marina de Vilamoura is situated in the old part of Faro District, on the Southern coast of Portugal. Faro District (Distrito de Faro in Portuguese) is located in the extreme South of Portugal, with Faro as its capital.

Situated on a sandy plain on the right bank of one of the largest navigable rivers, the Guadiana, next to its mouth, occupying the eastern end of the Algarve. It borders Ayamonte - Spain. Just a few minutes from the VRSAntónio Sports Complex - a great sports center - and 3 km from Monte Gordo Bay, its beaches and Casino. Faro and Seville airports are 50 and 150 km away, respectively, from this magnificent Recreational Port. The Guadiana River is navigable for another 20 miles upstream, offering picturesque points of attraction like Alcoutim, on the Portuguese side, or San Lucar del Guadiana, on the Spanish bank. We are a family owned and operated business. Winds: North in summer and South / SW in winter; moderate or strong wind from the South, SW or SE produces sea breaking in the bar. Currents: 2 to 4 knots in the ebb and 1 to 2 knots in the flood.

It is now ten years since the safest and most sheltered marina in the country opened its waters to boat owners, in the city of Albufeira. The environmental impact of the marina was one of our top priorities right from the beginning, so we are very pleased to inform you that the Environment Management Systems of the Marina de Albufeira are certified, since 2009, under ISO 14001. On this matter, in 2013 the marina, was once again awarded with the European Blue Flag and has been distinguish with the 5 Gold Anchors Award of The Yacht Harbour Association and British Marine Federation.
