About Bunbury Casuarina Boat Harbour
The Casuarina Boat Harbour is located in a retail and tourist precinct between the central business district and the Outer Harbour and Koombana Bay, about 175 kilometres south of Perth. Access by sea is via the Outer Harbour, with clear passage between the land-backed wharf to the West. Swimming is a popular activity at the adjacent beach in the Casuarina Boat Harbour which offers calm waters, grassed and shaded areas with public barbeques and toilets. Other aquatic activities in the local area include dolphin and whale watching, and the Lena dive wreck. Boating facilities comprises a service jetty, two public boat ramps, 48 recreational and five commercial boat pens, swing moorings and a slipway, with ample parking for casual use vehicles and boat trailers. Boating facility fees Fees are payable for the use of maritime facilities throughout the state. It is a condition of use that all users comply with DoT’s gas, electrical, insurance requirements and terms and conditions. A current third party/public liability insurance of $10 million is required for all vessels using the harbour permanently or on a casual basis and is a pre-requisite for any pen/mooring occupancy. An Electrical Compliance Certificate [Regulation 49 Electricity (Licensing) Regulations 1991] with respect to each vessel must be provided by a competent licensed electrical contractor to effect the initial pen issue or next renewal of pen use licence. Swing moorings 58 mooring sites are leased long term and one casual lease mooring is available for short term visitors, provided the vessel meets the draught and size requirements. Mooring site lessees are provided with a secured dinghy compound on the western side of the harbour. Boat ramps Dual concrete ramps with sloping catwalk and finger jetty are located on the south western side of the harbour. Slipway Currently capable of accommodating vessels up to 40 tonnes.
