As one of Lake Erie’s oldest continuously operated yacht clubs, The Lorain Sailing and Yacht Club (LSYC) was chartered in 1928 as The Lorain Yacht Club, and traces its roots to the 1911 founding of the Lorain Power Boat Club. Our name has changed, but LSYC’s commitment to support recreational boating of all types remains constant. Meinke Marina is the largest marina on Ohio's Lake Erie shoreline. The Marina will be open for launching and docking watercraft for the 2021 Season beginning Saturday, April 10 and closing Sunday, October 17. If you are using the launching service, you must enter from Hannum Avenue. The Marina offers such amenities as water and 30 amp electric service, security guards, guard office, lighted parking lots with plenty of parking, sanitary pump out, bag ice machine, restroom facilities, and concessions available when evening hour field games are scheduled. Get your dock reserved! The renewal deadline is February 1 to submit your $100 deposit to hold your dock for the season. Please submit the balance of your dock fee by mail or by putting the payment in the drop box at the Rossford Administrative Office, 133 Osborn Street, Rossford, Ohio 43460. Your remaining payment is needed to allow your decal to be available to you. Dock renters who have fully paid their dock fee will receive their decal in the mail. Marina Guards will verify boats docked in the Marina on May 2nd or after have fully paid for their space. When you receive your boat decal, put it on the boat in a spot that makes it visible to the Guards as they patrol the docks. Keycard is needed to enter gated Skyway marina and restroom/showers (located in National Great Lakes Museum). Total of four bridges are encountered with the second bridge vertical clearance listed as 19.4 feet. Entrance to marina marked with private red and green buoys with depth initially at 11 feet then deceasing to 8.5 feet minimum. Floating docks with 20 transient slips for boat LOA up to 50’ and dock for larger pier has both 30 and 50 amp service; otherwise 30 amps. No Wi-Fi service. Adjacent to marina is the National Great Lakes Museum and within one mile walking is The Docks (several restaurants), fast food (national chains, local hot dog venue), and Michael’s Café/Bakery (we ate breakfast here). In the foreseeable future, the Toledo Metropark Glass City will be completed making this location a local/regional attraction.
