Refuge Cove Marina – North Haven Marine-Industry-Association-Logo Ideally situated in the enclosed waters of Adelaide’s North Haven Basin, only minutes to the cruising waters of Gulf St Vincent, Refuge Cove Marina offers 195 Strata titled fully serviced wet berths with access to four restaurants, a tavern, a hairdresser and a take-away, as well as an adjacent fuel dock, well stocked chandlery, boat yard with straddle lift and a boat broker. The marina’s own on shore facilities include secure parking, modern clean toilet/shower block with laundry. A medical centre and a nine hole golf course are a short 5 min walk away and a large supermarket and shopping centre are only two minutes away by car. With berths sizes ranging from 8.5 to 11.5 metres, plus four 18 metre T head berths, Refuge Cove is ideally suited to both smaller power boats and medium sized yachts. Marina West boasts 73 berths ranging in size from 11 up to 35 metres, reflecting the growing popularity of bigger boats and addressing the need for longer berths to safely moor large yachts and motor boats. A first class amenities building is located at the top of the Marina West gangway. Facilities include digital television, internet access, shower and change room amenities and coffee/tea station. Whyalla Marina, s.a.

Walcon Marine Australasia recently completed the design and construction of a new floating marina upgrade for the town of Whyalla. The scope of work included the demolition and removal of the old marine structure at Whyalla Marina, and then the design and construction of a new heavy-duty floating system that used the existing pilings. FRP Micro Mesh was used for the deck surface, providing the council with a low maintenance and cost effective solution. Due to the non-corrosive properties of FRP, it has an expected service life of more than 50 years. Rolec service pedestals were also used in this project, which provided electricity and water to the pencil holders. Whyalla is located approximately 400 km northwest of Adelaide and has a small population of around 20,000 people. Walcon used local subcontractors to promote economic growth in the region. A great project that Walcon got involved in, leaving the City of Whyalla and his penholders extremely happy.
