About Port de Plaisance de Carentan

The Carentan marina is located in the Manche department. It has a capacity of 350 boats on pontoons. The port of Carentan has a visitors' area for your stopovers with 50 places available. The port is reserved for boats under 25 m. Please note, the maximum draft is 2.90 m. Inland marina connected to the sea through a long canal (approx. 7 km). Access: You navigate through a marked channel and then an ecluse (lock) before entering the marina basin. The reception to the public of the harbor master's office is maintained at the usual hours. The harbor master's office is open at the following times: - open every day, Monday to Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Closing of the office on Sunday. harbor master's office: telephone +33 2.33.42.24.44 / email: port@ccbdc.fr Lock number: +33 2.33.71.10.85. Capacity : 310 places including 50 for visitors. Minimum depth 3 m. Berthing: 310 berth including 50 visitor's. Depth 3 M minimum. Environment: Located directly next to the town — shops, restaurants, and services are all walking distance. Certification: Holder of the Blue Flag for environmental quality. Access to the basin: about 2 hours before and 3 hours after high tide. Access to the lock gate About 2 H before 3 H after high tide. History & Special Features Carentan has had port activity since the Middle Ages. The modern leisure marina was built in 1983. The canal and the aqueduct (pont-canal) create a unique approach to the marina through the wetlands of the Cotentin marshes. PAF = Police Aux Frontières (Border Police). Carentan is a marina attached to the Cherbourg PAF zone. It is listed as a “port de plaisance rattaché”: It is not a full international entry point by itself. But it is legally connected to Cherbourg Border Police for immigration checks when required. Meaning for boaters: If arriving from outside Schengen or a non-EU boat, you may need to report to Cherbourg PAF depending on your voyage plan. For EU/Schengen internal movements, no formalities are normally required, but customs can still check vessels anywhere.
