Welcome to the Shrewsbury Sailing & Yacht Club The Shrewsbury Sailing and Yacht Club was founded in 1936 by a group of local sailors in support of sailing and sailboat racing on the Shrewsbury River. SSYC is about the love of sailing and the camaraderie that draws sailors together. A volunteer organization, run by members for the mutual benefit of the club after over eighty years our focus remains on sailing. Members and guests enjoy a spectacular view from the Clubhouse deck, overlooking the water with a vantage point that provides for countless, awe inspiring memorable sunsets over the Shrewsbury River. The club supports one of the top junior sailing programs in the northeast. Our program has produced many national and international champions. At the same time, we continue to promote a top-flight one-design racing program for adults and children, sailing seven active fleets from April through October.
